Python Backend Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python (Django REST or FastAPI), SQL, and microservices architecture. The role also requires proficiency in Generative AI (GenAI), including prompt engineering and fine-tuning LLMs for production-grade solutions.

Experience with the U.S. healthcare domain will be considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities
•    Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (Django REST Framework or FastAPI).
•    Architect and optimize SQL database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
•    Build and manage microservices to support modular, high-performing applications.
•    Apply GenAI expertise to integrate and optimize LLM-based solutions, including prompt design, fine-tuning, and API-driven workflows.
•    Ensure code quality, security, and compliance with best practices and industry standards.
•    Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Frontend, QA, Product, DevOps) for end-to-end solution delivery.
•    Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning of backend services.

Requirements And Qualifications:

Required Skills & Qualifications
•    5+ years of overall software development experience.
•    Minimum 2 years of hands-on Python backend development experience.
•    Strong expertise in Django REST Framework or FastAPI.
•    Proficiency with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
•    Proven experience in Generative AI (LLMs) including prompt engineering and fine-tuning models.
•    Solid understanding of microservices architecture and API-first design.
•    Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery.

Good to Have
•    Experience in U.S. healthcare domain and HIPAA-compliant application development.
•    Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
•    Hands-on with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
•    Strong focus on application security and performance optimization.
